Lilly

Havanese/Maltese "Havamalt"
Female/spayed/shots current
9 years old
7 lbs

(Adopted Nov.11/17)

Lovely little Lilly has now settled in with her foster family once again. Sadly, her original owners became ill and could no longer care for her. Lucky for her a very kind and caring friend stepped in and arranged for her transfer into rescue. (thank you Ellen!) Then we placed her into a loving home, but because of a sudden family illness, she was returned to us. She grew up as an only dog and has done very well with the resident small dogs in her foster home. ( Large dogs are iffy for her right now) She does do the barky in the face when meeting new dogs, but if they will stand up to her all will be settled quickly between them. She's very active and you would never know she is 9 yrs old. Currently she weighs in at almost 7 lbs, but she should be a pound or two heavier. That will be taken care of with extra treats while her foster family gives her a refresher course with the 'recall command'. She walks very well on a leash, sleeps in a crate right next to her foster family without a peep. She is pee pad trained and being reminded its best to do that business outside if possible and she is doing well so far with that. She will just need someone to make sure she has the opportunity to get out the door as needed. Lilly is a delightful sweetheart and loves, loves being with her human and snuggling on a nice warm lap! (she's sitting on mine now assisting with this write up) She has come along very well considering all of the recent changes in her life and we are enjoying getting to know this darling of a girl and she will be a very loving companion with her new forever family. As typical with her breed, at times she can be a bit vocal so keep that in mind. She does fine with both men and women, but will not be a suitable companion for children under the age of 12 yrs old. Families with a securely fenced in yard with get preference. She is not reliable with the 'come' command yet. Lilly can't wait to meet her new family
