ADOPTED October 2017

Sam is a wonderful dog we took in at the request of a local humane society. He was taken in a cruelty case and had extensive medical needs. His skin was infected, his ears were a mess, he smelled horrible, his mouth was rotten but was such a loving and terrific dog. We were so happy to be able to help him. He was lucky to have been fostered by one of our best foster homes known for their ability to battle through skin and ear infections. This a daily battle with baths, ear cleaning, medications, special diet, and frequent trips to the doctor. We put him up for adoption after all of the big stuff had been taken care of and sent him to foster care for the palliative care. We had hoped that someone might see him, take an interest in his story and maybe follow along with him until he had reached optimum health.

That’s exactly what happened. A kind woman who lived counties away kept in frequent contact with the foster mom and got updates with photos on a weekly basis. By the time he was ready months later to move to his forever home, his family felt that they already knew him. It was love at first sight for Sam.

Sam was adopted in October 2017
